Type of Service

How to Get Involved

Parents Club: Attend meetings (3rd Weds of every month at 7pm), volunteer for committees, donate food/pop when asked, help at events/fundraisers including Teacher Luncheons, Mom-to-Mom Sale, Vendor Show, Catholic Schools Week events, Family Fun Run, assemblies, and more! A main source of service hour opportunities.

 Email sijparentsclub@gmail.com

Attending meetings is the best way to hear about everything, but watch the school and Parents Club newsletters for more sign-ups and opportunities.

Men’s Club: Volunteer to help at events/fundraisers including Lenten Fish Fry, Trunk-or-Treat, Daddy-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Dinner Night. A main source of service hour opportunities.  (Meets the 2nd Weds evening of every month.)

Lenten Fish Fry:  Such a big event and needs so many helpers, it gets its own mention!  Every week of Lent, help each Wednesday evening with prep work or on Friday during the fry.

Attending meetings is the best way to hear about everything, but watch the school newsletter and school emails for more sign-ups and opportunities.

Fish Fry:  Look for signups via email

SummerFest:  All families are required to work 4 hours, but you can work as many as you want. Serve food/beverage, work security or transportation, sell raffle tickets, bake for the bake sale, work the kids game tent, set-up or tear-down, and much more—there’s something for everyone! A main source of service hour opportunities.

Lunch Duty:  Come during lunch time to help supervise the cafeteria and the playground.

Sign up in SchoolSpeak or email cmaniaci@saintisaacjogues.com

In-Classroom Help:  Help in your child’s classroom with holiday parties or other special activities, help the teacher with a variety of tasks like tearing workbook pages, classroom organizing or cleaning, or any other help they need.  All classroom help varies by teacher, so don’t be afraid to ask them what they need!

Email your classroom teacher; email or look for info from Room Reps (you will find out who they are at beginning of school year).

Field Trips: You earn service hours for chaperoning field trips (Grades K-8).  Preschool and Prekindergarten field trips do NOT count for service hours since they are optional and every student must have their own parent/guardian driver/chaperone.

Look for info from your classroom teacher.

Auction: Join the planning committee for SIJ’s biggest fundraiser of the year, or volunteer day-of with setup, etc.

Donations of services: If your business or profession is one that could provide a service to the school that would normally have to be paid for (e.g. technology services, advertising/marketing services, landscaping, construction projects, donations of supplies), please consider donating that product or service in fulfillment of parent service hours.  Please qualify your donation in advance.
