St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School was established in St. Clair Shores in 1956.  During the 1956-1957 school year, 154 students were enrolled in grades 5 through 8.  The Sisters of Divine Providence were assigned to St. Isaac Jogues and faithfully served the community through the mid-1990's.

In 2014 the pastor of St. Isaac Jogues, Fr. Darrell Roman, brought Consecrated Religious back to the school when he invited members from the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist to join the St. Isaac's community. The Community, based in Ann Arbor, is committed to Catholic education and serves in several Catholic elementary and secondary schools as well as universities.

St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School is located in the center of the city of St. Clair Shores, in the Lakeview Public School District.  The surrounding middle-class neighborhood is composed primarily of single-family brick homes.  The population age is balanced, with a mix of young families, families with high school and college age students and senior citizens.  There are a number of small businesses along Harper and Little Mack, but the school itself is located in the center of the neighborhood.

Today, St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School educates students in grades pre-school through 8th. Chief among our core values is a commitment to excellence in faith, academics, virtuous living, and community. St Isaac's has an outstanding record of educating the whole child. Aside from strong academic programs our students have regular opportunities to encounter Christ and to serve one another and the wider community.  Our students routinely score above the national average on standardized tests in all subject areas. 

A large proportion of our students go on to attend Catholic high schools and then advance to college and post-graduate education. Many of our alumni hold highly respected careers in the arts, humanities, science, business, teaching, and public service.  At St. Isaac Jogues, where Christ is our teacher, all our students are given a deep love for learning. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we daily experience our hearts burning as we encounter Christ, our Truth in every classroom.
