Welcome

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us that everyone who “has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.” This simple verse encapsulates the great gift that our children receive here as they are “instructed in the kingdom of heaven.” Our students (1) reap the fruits of the old, (2) synthesize it with the challenges of the new, and (3) consequently become masters of their household, i.e. their futures.

At St. Isaac’s we follow in the footsteps of giants. The Catholic Church provided the very foundation of Western education in the Middle Ages, and continues to provide high quality education to millions of young people around the world. We work from an understanding that to educate a child in the wonders of the world is to educate that child in God Himself. Thus every subject is like an open window through which we touch eternity. As we form our minds in knowledge we come to know ourselves and our Creator better.

Along with nurturing our rich heritage, we are also striving to meet the challenges that arise in our present age. We work together to develop best practices synthesized with the individual needs of our students. We strive to provide quality services and opportunities through technology in the classroom, academic and counseling support services, and a variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities. With the understanding that every person is first and foremost a child of God, created with a unique personality and skills, these “new” developments in the world of education forged with the “old” of our history help us to provide a quality education to 21 st Century learners.

Finally, when the “new” and the “old” are fostered within the context of a rich Catholic culture, our students achieve the self-mastery and discipline necessary to live truly fulfilled and excellent lives. This is why our students leave prepared to be ‘masters of their household.’ As we strive to become disciples of Christ, we are preparing our students with the doctrinal, sacramental, moral and prayer foundation necessary to live life to the full - a life worthy of the name of Christian.

And as we strive together to become “the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old,” know of my prayers for you and your family.

God bless you and Mary keep you,

Sr. Maria Guadalupe, OP

School Principal
