Boys Dress Code
Early Childhood – 8th Grade
Trousers
- Dress black.
- Dress black corduroys may be worn during the cold months (October 15 – April 15).
- Boys in grades 3-8 must wear a black belt.
Shorts
- Uniform plain, black dress knee-length shorts may be worn during the warm months (April 15 – October 15). Grades 3-8 must wear a black belt.
Shirts
- Isaac Jogues Polo shirts with monogram. Polo shirts can be a solid white or cardinal, long or short sleeve.
- T-shirts may be worn under the uniform shirt. T-shirts must be a solid white only and the sleeve length must match that of the uniform shirt.
- Shirt must be tucked in.
- Mass uniform: White oxford shirts with uniform tie are required to be worn by students in grades 6-8 on Mass days.
Socks
- Solid black or solid white crew socks only. No “no show” or ankle socks.
Shoes
- Solid black or dark brown dress shoes.
- Tennis shoes are permitted on gym class day only. (No light-up shoes)
- Early Childhood-Kindergarten can wear gym shoes as part of their daily dress. (No light-up shoes)
Sweaters/Outerwear (Optional)
- Sleeveless V-Neck pullover, long sleeve V-Neck pullover, crewneck or cardigan.
- Solid color only, choice of red, gray, black, white or cardinal.
- Middle school may wear SIJ monogramed fleece jacket
- No emblems or monograms, except the approved St. Isaac Jogues logo sweater.
Hairstyles
- Hair styles should be conservative and appropriate.
- Boys’ hair must not be so long as to touch the collar or eyebrows or cover the ears.
- Students will be asked to modify the haircut if the administration determines that the hairstyle is extreme A student will be excluded from classes if the problem is not corrected within 2 days after notification.
- Dyed, highlighted, or bleached hair is not allowed.
Accessories
- A small chain with a modest religious medal is allowed.
- A modest watch is permitted. No fitbits or smart watches.
- No other jewelry may be worn.
Girls Dress Code
Early Childhood – 8th Grade
Uniform Jumper
- Girls in Early Childhood-3rd grade
Uniform Skirt
- Girls in 4th – 8th grade
- Skirts must be no more than 1 inch above the knee. This means that when the student kneels on the ground the skirt is no more than 2 inches above the ground. The uniform providers provide ample material to let hems down to accommodate this policy

- Heels must not exceed 1 ½
- Tennis shoes are permitted on gym class day only. (No light-up shoes)
- Early Childhood-Kindergarten can wear tennis shoes as part of their daily dress. (No light-up shoes)
Trousers
- Girls are permitted to wear black dress slacks or corduroys in cold months only (October 15 – April 15).
- If girls choose to wear slacks, they should not be wearing their jumper or skirt over them.
- Cuffs may not be rolled.
- Girls in grades 3-8 must wear a black belt with pants.
Hairstyles
- No extreme hairstyles.
- Dyed, highlighted, or bleached hair is not allowed.
- Girls may wear solid black, gray, brown, white, burgundy or uniform skirt material headband with no hanging cloth tail, bows, flowers or feathers.
Accessories
- No dangle earrings or hoops (posts only). Only one set of earrings in the lower lobe is permitted on girls.
- A modest watch is permitted. No fitbits or smart watches.
- Small chain with a modest religious medal or simple religious bracelet is allowed.
- No other jewelry may be worn.
Makeup
- No makeup is allowed.
- Clear nail polish only is allowed.
- Fake nails are not permitted
Gym Dress Code
Early Childhood-8th Grade
- Gray T-shirt long or short sleeve with official SIJ school monogram.
- Red shorts with official SIJ school monogram or solid black sweatpants
- No stripes or logos
- No snap pants, yoga pants, or spiritwear
- Leggings are not permitted
- Crewneck SIJ school monogram sweatshirt is optional
- Tennis shoes (No light-up shoes)
