Welcome to St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School!

Welcome to a wonderful school year!  I am truly blessed to be the leader of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School, and I look forward to sharing my love of Catholic education will all who come through our doors.

Our theme for this school year is "Together We Can!" Through our faith, surrounded by the love of God, we can accomplish great things! As one family, there are so many things that we can accomplish when we do them together!
We can grow in faith by living as Christ has taught us.

  • We can grow in knowledge by working together as partners in the education of all of our students.
  • We can grow in enrollment by positively promoting our school and parish communities.
Together we can make an impact on our school, our parish, our community, and the world around us.

We started our school year with improved technology as the school computer lab has been filled with new computers, allowing the old computers to replace some of our classroom computers. Additionally, all of our classrooms will have access to iPads. This is the beginning stages, and we hope to be able to add more iPads or tablets into our building. Finally, Promethean Interactive White Boards have been installed in each of classrooms for grades 1-8.  We are looking forward to completing our building wide implementation of Promethean boards for Preschool and Kindergarten this year.
St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School offers a wealth of opportunities for students of all ages and interests.  We prepare our students to be active participants in the liturgy by offering the Junior Lector Program.  We also train students in grades 4-8 to be altar servers.  We are supported in song during our Masses by our Children’s Choir.  We host the Young Rembrandts Art Program, Chess Club, Drama Club and Yearbook Club.  We also have sports for students of all ages and are active participants in the CYO Sports Program.
Students have a number of ways to learn and demonstrate leadership skills today that they will use in the future.  We have our Charger Council, comprised of students in grades 4-8.  This student government provides advice to me as the principal, and we work together to make St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School a SPIRIT-filled community.  Additionally, the National Junior Honor Society and Green School Committee work to help those in need and to protect our world for future generations.

The question often arises about how our school students fare on standardized tests.  This information can be found on our webpage.  Our students take the IOWA Assessment every year…without days or weeks of preparation prior to testing.  We use these scores as a guide to see how our students are growing.  With all of the talk about Common Core State Standards, we incorporate those standards which do not go against our faith into our curriculum.  We are a Catholic school and teach our students accordingly.
I hope you have taken the opportunity to meet Fr. Darrell Roman, our new pastor. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a great love of education to our parish community. Please join us for one of our weekday or weekend liturgies to experience his love of our school and parish first-hand.
St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School will be holding an open house on Sunday, January 26, 2014 following the 11:30AM Mass.  Please join us for our Catholic Schools’ Week Mass and our first SIJ STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Learning Fair until 3:00PM.  We will have National Junior Honor Society tour guides on hand to give you and your children the student’s view of SIJ.  We also offer personal tours and shadowing dates by appointment at any time of year.

Thank you for choosing St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School as your partner in education as we work together to make a difference!

In Christ's Service,

Mrs. Amanda Lund, Principal
