Youth Undertaking Ministry
YUM strives to invite and empower the youth of our community into service for others in the name of our Lord. We gather bi-weekly in prayer, service, food and fun. We aim to be a safe atmosphere to gather and share our common faith. YUM is open to teens from 7th – 12 grade however pulls mainly from the 7th and 8th grade.
We provide outreach opportunities such as a parish wide used sports equipment drive we had for children living in an orphanage. We will be holding our 2nd Locks for Love hair cutting event in February. Together with the Christian Service group we worked on the giving trees, Easter baskets and Thanksgiving food boxes. We have ongoing service projects.
An ideal YUM adult volunteer would be someone who has high energy, loves spending time with middle school teens, can tolerate high noise volumes and who is eager to share their faith. An ideal YUM teen volutneer is someone who is respectful at all times of those gathered and willing to serve in His honor.
Youth Group
The Saint Isaac Jogues Youth Group offers a place where, mainly high school aged teens, can gather to share their faith, laughter and prayer. We take a highly communicative approach to our gatherings as well as always looking for areas to serve. We look at many issues facing today's teens in a Catholic point of view.
This ministry is beneficial to our youth in many ways. The ministry invites teens into a greater ownership for their faith and their sense of community. It's a place where our Catholic teens can be with peers who not only understand, but are going through much of the same issues our teens face today.
An ideal adult volunteer for the youth group would be someone who loves spending time with high school teensm has a high energy level and is willing to share their faith as well as willing to tolerate high noise volumes. Any teens wishing to participate in the youth group should be respectful at all times of those gathered and willing to serve in His honor.
Youth Serve
The Saint Isaac Jogues Youth Serve program is for 7th - 12th graders who want to be a part of making a difference in our community. We provide many outreach opportunities and have ongoing service projects.
"And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me' " - Matthew 25:40
