We sat down with the Sommers family to talk about their experience coming to SIJ as a military family, and what the SIJ community has meant to them.

will be in military family moving around a lot we move to places where we don't have any family and from day one and saying Isaacs we were brought in and made to feel a fart we moved here in 2016 is from out-of-state military family no ties here no family here we knew we wanted a faith-based school for children to learn that was aligned in the values that we share everything that SI provides to our children as well as to my wife and I align with our views and it's been a great experience so far for the three years that we've been here when my wife got sent away for the Air Force I was just me other families the school teachers they all reached out and they all they all assisted yet cuz because I work as well we could have done it without the sij community, so the challenges that we Face moving and starting over really have been helped with the community the close-knit family here everyone knows our kids name from the beginning and our kids enjoy being at school they're learning and they're growing and their love for Jesus but not only their friends and their family has really evolved by being in this pool environment we've developed a brave strong friendships here and our faith in our family our marriage has brown as well when going back to choosing the school we knew we wanted a school with the traditional basis and sisters and since we've been here kids talk about them everyday everything that we do here extracurriculars with chess club Garden Club boards there always a part of and help us teach to know God better teaching them about their culture you know taking them to the mother house and Resort without the sisters academics and character if I can teach them one thing through life it's just to know the difference between right and wrong and that's really been reinforced here character wise teaching the virtues and compassion compassion patient how to treat other people respect academically easy it's easy for us we don't have to we don't have to do a lot because they're learning so much here. We just reinforced it makes it yeah that's in there I think another thing I did that they're still proud of what they're learning and what they're doing cool I think such a tremendous growth in Orange learning and just also has confident that he is so proud when he says the Our father at dinner he doesn't so graciously and it really makes us happy if you're looking for a community that involves everyone and everyone comes together as a family than then you should definitely consider sij well-rounded great place to learn and grow
